Breathe In

Music and Lyrics by Madison Haley Mouritsen Videos taken by Matthew Mouritsen

In My Heart

A song dedicated to my wonderful cousin Whitney Mouritsen May and her adorable baby Georgia May. I love you both! In My Heart-Lyrics I’ll sing you through your nightmares And whistle away all your cares Don’t hide from me your fears You’re in my arms you’re bloomin light You’re crystal in the stars at night So innocent and loved I’ll sing until you close your eyes And dream about you and I And daddy holdin your hand I’ll never stop until you’re grown And even then you’re not alone You’ll always be in my heart Lullaby My child Lullaby Goodnight I hope you’ll go where flowers grow Where darkness dares not to follow Please leave a path for me Now I just want you to know I’ll always love you so That will never change I’ll sing until you close your eyes And dream about you and I And daddy holdin your hand I’ll never stop until you’re grown And even then you’re not alone You’ll always be in my heart Lullaby My child L

Kaysville Idol

I had the opportunity to compete in this years Kaysville/Fruit Heights Idol. On the final night I sang an original called "Our Enchanted Night" and ended up taking 2nd place in my age group. Distinguished Young Women

For eight weeks I learned how to perfect myself in multiple areas of my life, some of which being: Fitness, interview skills, presenting myself, on-the-spot answering questions, how to walk in heels (both on flat ground and up and down stairs), how to speak properly, appearance, what not to wear, making friends, how to be a pirate, and many more. As you can tell I had such a good time with the nineteen other girls involved in the Distinguished Young Women (DYW) scholarship program. Although I did not walk away with any cash for college, I did walk away with a new attitude about myself and also with the knowledge that I could conquer hard things. I will never forget the experiences I had there and will cherish the friendships I made forever. During the showcase night we preformed a pirate opening number where we each introduced ourselves to the audience and judges. (Earlier that same day we had each had a ten minute interview with the judges). Following the pirate act we pre
