Little Superman Cape- Mitchel Porter

This is a song I wrote for one of my best and closest friends Mitchel Porter. We met the summer of 2011 at a Tuesday night young men and young women mutual activity and we played basketball. The first thing I learned about him is that he likes to talk. The second thing I learned is that he liked soccer. We had soo much in common (except for soccer haha) and by the next mutual activity, which was a ward cook-off, we were competing against each other and talking about all the crazy things we had done throughout our lives thus far.

In the beginning of September, last year, I had an acoustic jam session in my backyard and because of work Mitchel couldn't come until around 11. Although everyone was starting to leave he still showed up and helped me clean up EVERYTHING. He even did the dishes... By the time we were done he had made me promise not to plan anything the next coming Friday because we were going on a date. He wasn't going to take excuses, and plus I really wanted to go. On this date I met two more friends who I am close to, Stephen and McKell. I had never been on a date like this one before, but I had a blast and found out that Mitchel really knew how to be a gentleman.

There are a million more adventures and experiences to be shared about our time up to this point, but if there  is anything I have learned from it, it would be that there is ALWAYS someone watching your actions. You never know when your own Mitchel Porter is going to come along and bless your life like he did mine. I have never in my life met anyone who knows so much about every subject on the universe, or anyone who has as much fun as him, or anyone who really knew how to live life. I am so grateful for him and his example to me to never back down and to never regret. I am also very grateful to his loving family for raising up such an amazing young man so that he could go through life blessing others. I know for a fact he is going to do just that as he is off serving our country. Thank you Mitchel Porter.
